Tackling Marie Kondo

Nov 13, 2019

I’ve contemplated starting a blog, off and on, for quite some time now. I get all excited and think I have things to say, and in about the next breath I determine that I have nothing to say.

Well...I’ve come to the conclusion that we ALL have something to say. Whether or not anybody is interested is not for me to decide, it’s for others to decide. It’s for YOU to decide.

So here we are...

Saturday morning this weekend my sister, Wendy, and I were having coffee. It just amazes me that in the course of an hour or two we can cover so many topics. (You know we got the world all figured out! Ha.)

Our conversation moves so fast it can be hard to keep up. We covered intermittent fasting, aging parents, us aging and future plans, being a parent to adult children, our pets, sex, and Marie Kondo.

Yes, Marie Kondo. She’s a buzzword right now. (Just in case you didn’t already know)

Here’s the thing. Wendy and I live in the same city and see each other at least a couple times a month. We communicate often and still did not know that we both were reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. But, my sister had already begun implementing! Her clothes are done and her kitchen is done.

My mind was blown!

Me? I want to be implementing Marie Kondo into my life, but I can’t yet. Why? I feel like I have so many obligations that I can’t possibly take on another project right now. Life seems to be pulling me in so many directions I can barely keep up.

Bottom line is, I am totally overwhelmed.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my life! But I always tend to take things on to the point of overwhelm. I feel like that’s my natural state of being.

Someday I hope to be more organized in many areas of my life, but for now I find joy in the one area of my life where I am fairly organized. And that’s my digital photos.

I have taken great lengths to ensure I can never lose any of my precious family photos. Whether they come from my camera or my iPhone. I also have a system down so that I can find any of them at a moment’s notice. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m so excited to share ideas and strategies about what you can do to take care of your photos as well.

Here’s the heart of the matter:

If you’re a busy momma, out of time and overwhelmed, this blog is for you! I’ll be sharing my life with you, but mostly I’ll be speaking with you. Sharing ideas and offering solutions. Lots of different subject matter. But you will hear regularly about organizing and keeping your photos, because that’s my real passion.

Maybe someday we’ll even tackle Marie Kondo.
